A Special Thanks to Our Donors
We want to express a special thanks to our very generous sponsors.
We couldn't provide our community with so many sporting options without your support.
Summer 2024: We owe a BIG THANK YOU to the 100 Men Who Care Halton Hills organization which donated $8,094 to Special Olympics Halton Hills.
These funds are allocated to the rhythmic gymnastics competition carpet, which was purchased this past spring. Having a competition carpet enables us to host more competitions and regional practices and will enable other clubs to do the same. We even lent it to Special Olympics Ontario for use at the 2024 Provincial Games just a few months ago. It will get a lot of use over the next few decades.
Yay to the 100 Men Who Care Halton Hills!
Summer 2024: We owe a BIG THANK YOU to the Georgetown and Acton Rotarians who $5,000 to Special Olympics Halton Hills.
This donation covered the cost of adding pickleball to our sporting options. And, WOW, is it popular! Thanks also to the local Pickleball Association for donating court time for our team. We appreciate the Halton community for continuing to support the Special Olympians here in North Halton. Thank you!
Spring 2024: HeyRay Self Storage has kindly donated the use of a container for us to store all of our off-season porting equipment, which requires a lot of space. This generous donation makes it much easier for our teams to gain access and share the use of a whole lot of equipment. Thank you Ray!
Spring 2024: The Lions Club of Georgetown donated $1,000 toward our purchase of a competition Carpet for our very own Rhythmic Gymnastics team, the Sunflowers. If it weren't for fantastic Service groups like the Lions, we wouldn't have all the support we need to provide our athletes with great sporting opportunities.
Thank you Lions Club!
Spring 2024: The Rotary Clubs of Georgetown & Acton, banded together to donate $5,000 which we used to start up a Pickleball team. And, what a fun sport it is. Our athletes love it.
Thank you Rotarians!
Winter 2023: The Kinsmen Club of Georgetown have kindly donated $15,000 to our community this year. These funds will cover the cost for each of our sport teams teams to host a competition. This means that not only will our athletes benifit by having another chance to compete, so will hundreds of other South Western Ontario Special Olymic Athletes. This donation will go far in our effort to provide athletes with an opportunity to show off the results of their hard work. A big THANK YOU goes to our local Kinsmen club!
Winter 2022: Jason France: This year we were honored with a major donation from a single individual. Jason France, an entrepreneur in the electric vehicle industry in California, offered to match all donations we received in the last few months of this year. Jason donated a total of $8,381 to the Halton Hills Special Olympics community. With donations of this size, we can provide more sporting opportunities and enhance the quality of the sports we already offer. We give a special thanks to Jason for choosing our community for this generous donation.
Winter 2022: 100 Women Who Care We are overwhelmed by the continued support by the 100 Women Who Care, who donated $6,100 to Special Olympics Halton Hills. This is the second time in just over three years when this generous group selected our community to help us grow and offer more sports. Pictured below are the Halton Hills Sunflower Rhythmic Gymnastic team and the 100 Women Who Care representatives (in the back middle) Liana McAlister and Jill Farrington.
Summer 2019: What a wonderful surprise! A local youth group of 7 wonderful girls raised $300 on behalf of the Rhythmic Gymnastic team of Halton Hills (the Sunflowers) during the summer. Six of them are pictured above. First row from left to right are: Sloane Clarke, Cyan Clarke, Shaelyn Clarke, Kali Caines, Alexis Joustra, and Kaylee Preece. Not pictured Megan Kilic.
August 2019: The Halton Hills Special Olympics generously received $9,400 from the 100 Women Who Care Halton Hills which enabled us to start up a Co-Ed basketball team and aquire competition leotards and apparatus for our growing Rhythmic Gymnastics team.We couldn't have done it without you ladies!
The Optimist Club of Halton Hills has become a stalwart supporter of our Special Olympics community. Their annual donations have enabled us to enhance our sporting offerings in a myriad of ways over the years. Most recently, thanks to their 2022 donation, we are able to double the size of our 2022-23 season Basketball team. And, we cannot forget that they provide a Breakfast with Santa for our entire Special Olympics community every year, which is a favourite of all our athletes and their famlies.
